The company “Tropico dei Colli”, a recently acquired customer specialized in the supply of exotic fruits that can be cultivated in Northern Italy, was founded in a small town near Milano in 2015.
Everything began several years ago, thanks to Mirko’s passion for exotic plants: he told us that he collects hundreds of them, especially the ones with fruits. He decided to start up the business after meeting Giulia, an agronomist whose family was involved in the wholesale trade of fruits and vegetables.
Together, they identified new species of plants that generate fruits with an exotic flavor, are suitable for our climate and do not need to be protected from the cold or to undergo special treatments!
As Mirko tells us: “after we tasted our first fruits, we tested them with restaurants and retailers and soon realized that our production offered great cultivation and trade potential. So, we thought: why not give everyone the chance to enjoy these delicious fruits?”
Today, “Tropico dei Colli” consists of 15 growing farm businesses that produce Asimina, Feijoa, Kiwi Actinidia Arguta and Siberian Blueberries.
Mirko continues: “for those who wish to cultivate these fruits, we provide plants of the finest varieties, protect the systems and follow the management of the orchards all the way up to the harvest in order to ensure the highest quality throughout the entire process. Our business collects, packages and markets the productions of all of our partner farm companies.”
Initially, they sought the advice of both Italian and foreign companies before implementing the first fruit systems and deciding which materials to buy. Mirko tells us that everyone always said: “Valente, without any doubt!”
That’s why Mirko followed the advice received and, when asked if he was satisfied with the decision, he replied: “Absolutely! Valente perfectly addresses both our needs and those of the farm businesses that work for us for several reasons”, amongst which:
– quality, reliable and easy to install materials, in other words, the best on the market;
– ideal finishes that save time during installation;
– qualified assistance during the design phase.
The production of the “Tropico dei Colli” is limited, but very valuable; the crops must thus be ensured with Valente’s anti-hail nets. Besides, part of their objectives includes starting on the right foot, working with the utmost quality and standardizing the processes.
“Today,” continues Mirko, “our exotic fruits are not affected by phytophagous insects; however, if it should happen, we can always add Valente’s anti-insect nets for total protection. Our goal is to optimize the work time and to seek the highest production quality: only these two elements will ensure customer loyalty and valuable fruits. Choosing Valente certainly was the best decision!”
