“I still remember my father telling me how he came up with the idea of making the concrete poles that would become the stars of VALENTE production” Alessandro Valente explains.
In fact, the need for poles for his vineyard immediately drove Pietro Valente to look for the best way to make top quality products, believing that having an excellent product would be the best way to be recognised and remembered on the market.
And the founder’s philosophy continues to be the company’s guiding star, as we are convinced today as in the past that product quality is the first and unmistakable business card for our customers; the quality level of our products is attested through their use on the field, outperforming the rest of the market.
Perseverance, endurance, and an iron will to never give up the pursuit of quality have been crucial in confirming our company as a leading manufacturer of the CAP pole. Even if today we have evolved and are recognised as a company that offers technical solutions for vineyards and orchards, the prestressed concrete pole still represents one of the flagship products of our wonderful company.
A quality that derives from the knowledge of the physical laws involved (compression and traction above all) that technology allows us to master with ever-increasing precision, but not only. Indeed, knowing the laws and mastering the technology are necessary but not sufficient conditions to guarantee an excellent end product; the strength, elasticity and durability of the CAP pole are primarily determined by the raw material, i.e. how the concrete is made.
With regard to our poles, the concrete used for their construction is made from aggregates (gravel and sand) obtained from sieved, graded, and washed natural material. The natural deposits that the Brenta river has left over the millennia, have allowed the use of natural ‘dolomite’, which is ideal for making the perfect concrete. This material gives the concrete high strength, even much higher than aggregates obtained from rock grinding.
The sand and gravel are mixed together with PORTLAND 525 cement, which acts as a ‘glue’, holding them together whilst providing a very high compression strength.
These simple components, skillfully dosed, mixed and processed, result in the best concrete for the best poles to be used in systems.
The high-carbon, low relaxation steel reinforcement completes the work. A steel braid (and not a ribbed iron rod) is inserted inside the KLASSIC Valente pole in order to perfectly transmit the compression to the structure.
The steel used is of very high strength (r=1900 N/mm2) and is formed by braids that adhere perfectly to the concrete, consisting of 2 or 3 intertwined wires of 2.25 mm diameter.
Quality without compromise and at the top end of the market, but this alone does not always define the value of a product and a company, especially if the competing products all ‘look alike’ on the outside and, sometimes, this similarity benefits someone who incorrectly uses the Valente name and quality as their own.
More and more often, we found ourselves noticing how the market was being confused by the offer of any concrete pole being sold as the VALENTE pole, and this was unacceptable to us. Something had to be done.
Thus, we had the brilliant idea of making the VALENTE prestressed concrete pole instantly recognisable: we engraved a distinctive sign, a V, along the entire length of the pole so that the market could easily recognise the original one.
If you want to be sure that you are buying the one and only VALENTE pole, check that it is engraved with the unmistakable V sign and that it is accompanied by the DNV certification providing the guaranteed strength values; only in this way you can be sure that you have made the best purchase ever.
We are putting ourselves out there to guarantee the best product!
