FREE CORDON VINEYARD

FREE CORDON VINEYARD

FREE CORDON VINEYARD

Type of plantation consisting of a permanent horizontal cordon positioned at 1.60-1.75 m and on which short spurs are leaned (2-3 buds) and strictly directed upwards to give life to fruit shoots. This type of plantation does not require upper supporting wires for plants and is thus used for vines with assurgent shoots. Metal or pre-stressed reinforced concrete posts are used and positioned at a maximum of 6 m. The same are planted at a depth of 70-80 cm. A 4.00 to 4.50 mm wire supports the entire weight of the vines and runs above the top of the posts. The free cordon is extremely suitable for mechanization and allows you to carry out all of the cultivation operations. In particular, by modifying the structure, the cordon can be “mobilized” to allow you to harvest vertically instead of horizontally.
