SUPER SPINDEL ORCHARD

SUPER SPINDEL ORCHARD

The plants are planted along the row at a distance of 0.30 to 0.50 meters and are supported by a strong structure of posts positioned five meters away from each other (ten in case of anti-hail systems) and by parallel rows (from three to five). The plants have a main trunk with very short branches or brindles, and have a maximum height of 2.50 to 2.80 meters, thus providing substantial cost savings for all of the cultivation operations. The production is concentrated along the main axis, thus with a consequent increase in the quality of the product (size of the fruit). The distance between the plants must follow a simple rule: plant height < distance between the rows. This way, our fruits are better exposed to the sun (with a better coloring). The plants are very close to each other, thus achieving a growth-retardant effect and firmer fruits.

Main advantages:

  • Growth-retardant effect on plants
  • Reduced management costs for the orchard (pruning, binding, harvest)
  • Lower structure = more stability
  • Limited “drifting” effect in terms of pest control
